Second Industrial Design Lecture of Fall 2008, Nature in Design Series
hosted by College of Architecture at Georgia Tech
On Wednesday October 8, Georgia Tech will be hosting their second Industrial Design lecture of the Fall 2008 semester presenting Neri Oxman, architect and researcher currently based at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for her lecture titled "Making Difference"

SC Upstate In-house I.D. Studio Tour
Hosted by the IDSA Carolina Chapter
"Be there when several locally based, international companies open up their doors for the first time to the outside visitors. CCi, Electrolux, and Michelin are three giants in the product design field. On October 17th they welcome a limited few to tour through their facilities and see what it’s like working for a corporate design firm. This will be a must see for any student of industrial design [but is open to anyone in the design community including professionals and their spouses]."
When: Friday, October 17, 2008, 11:30AM-6:30PM (ET)
Where: Greenville and Anderson, SC
Cost: $15 due at registration
Registration: Registration is required and must be made by Oct 15th.

Student Portfolio Reviews
hosted by IDSA Student Chapters
IDSA Student Chapter organizations at Auburn and Georgia Tech are each hosting portfolio review events in the very near future. Connect with either or both of these chapters to see what today's students are bringing to the table.
The IDSA Student Chapter at Auburn University invites you to join them for a lecture and portfolio review Thursday Oct. 16. Ms. RitaSue Siegel will present and lead a mock interview beginning at 3:30pm. After 5:00pm reviewers from across the Chapter will be available to look over portfolios. Light refreshments will be served.

The IDSA Student Chapter at Georgia Tech invites you to join them for presentations and discussion addressing the Industrial Designers's Portfolio: Theory, Strategy, and its role in representing the candidate" on Thursday Oct. 20th. Speakers moderated by Kevin Shankwiler, and including RitaSue Siegel (via teleconference), will present and discuss the student portfolio. Light refreshments will be served.
